CosyKiller is a year-long murder mystery adventure, delivered to your doorstep each month. Packed with clues, keepsakes, ciphers and mementos you need to review and unravel. CosyKiller is like an Agatha Christie novel where you play Miss Marple – no conclusions are drawn, and the puzzling and detection is up to you!
If you’re new to CosyKiller it can be difficult to decide which story to go for.
Inheritance of Murder was the first story we released and is definitely a good starting place for those of you who are puzzle-minded but don’t have a lot of experience using ciphers and codes – expect braille, letter to symbol substitutions and one-time cipher pads.
Curse of Humanrah is perhaps the next level up in terms of difficulty – expect plenty of knock codes, vigenere ciphers and occasional folding.
The Hidden Listener is a good box to pick if you already think of yourself as a supersleuth or would like a challenge – look out for morse code hidden in the form of knitting patterns, knock codes, and plenty of translations!
Murder at Marlborough House is considered our most challenging story with codes galore included in just the first box! You can expect – clues written in invisible ink, one-time cipher pads, vigeneres, unusual languages and number to letter ciphers.
Our CosyKiller audience mainly consists of adults but there is nothing stopping families taking part in the mysteries (although some puzzles can be a little tricky).
We would however recommend that caution is taken when playing ‘Murder at Malborough House’ as it contains very graphic descriptions and has references to drugs throughout.
Many of our subscriptions are purchased as a gift for family and friends. When you place an order, please be sure to add in the shipping address details for the person who is receiving this as a gift and we will send it directly to them. If you’d prefer we send the first box to you directly – please contact us and we’ll make a note on our orders to do so.
Each box is slightly different and each contains new pieces of the story line for you to fit together into the whole. We try not to be too specific with the box contents as it varies story to story and month to month – but there’s always a cover letter from the person leading the investigation to start you on your way – and each box will contain other contents, themed to the game, and have different parts of the puzzle to integrate together to give you a full picture.
As an example – Box 1 of “An Inheritance of Murder” contains a cover letter from the Heir Hunter, a burned journal from Marie Jones, a dried leaf, a cryptic note, spices, sketches (within the journal) and journal entries.
Box 2 of “An Inheritance of Murder” contains a letter from the heir hunter, a diya, a cigarette card, a letter from a friend, a boarding card, a newspaper clipping, spice.
A Monthly Subscription to CosyKiller means you will receive a new box each month, for a recurring payment of £25GBP. This payment is charged on the day of purchase and will automatically renew on the last day of the month.
Renewal orders are then sent out during the first week of the month.
Don ‘t worry. Whenever you subscribe the story will always start from the beginning, with box one.
Unless you have already experienced a box or two, in which case, contact us with your name and address and we will make sure you’re starting your subscription in the right place.
If you don’t want to order your boxes on a subscription that is perfectly okay.
Boxes can be purchased on a pay as you go basis, meaning you can play through the stories at your own pace. You can either purchase single chapters or purchase in bundles of three – meaning you can purchase the story in quarters.
If you cancel a subscription then we stop supplying your boxes. No further payments will be made. If at some point you want to continue with the story, then you can buy the boxes for subsequent months pay as you go.

We also have hint sheets for each storyline available on the Fairhall & Brett website – some of the boxes also contain codes & puzzles you will not be able to solve until later in the story.
The final solution for each story is provided in the final box along with a sheet detailing what codes were used throughout.
Each box we send contains a letter from Fairhall & Brett – this comes with a contents list at the bottom which states all of the items that should be included.
